Happy 10th Anniversary to lafcpug
Join us to help celebrate 10 years of lafcpug, Wednesday June 16 at the Gallery Theater in Hollywood beginning at 6:45PM. Doors open at 6:00PM
That's right folks. lafcpug turns 10 years old in June, so get out of the house and into lafcpug for a very special gathering of digital filmmakers, gurus and all around cool people.
This month we welcome back film editor Steve Cohen who will show off the shipping version of Avid's Media Composer 5.
Huh?
Well, if you are looking for the definitive definition of "irony" then showing off Avid's MC5 at the 10th Anniversary of lafcpug is it.
Avid Media Composer 5 is perhaps the most significant upgrade in its long history. This is not your father's NLE. Its new features are designed with all editors in mind, whether you work in Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere. If you are exclusively a FCP user, you need to see this. If you are a Premiere user, you need to see this. And if you are an Avid user, then lets see it the way it should be seen, demoed by working editor, Steve Cohen. (Note: A team from Avid will be in the lobby to answer all questions and listen to your feedback.)
Avid and FCP editor Steve Kanter will show off the just announced (still in beta) AAF Transfer plug-in from BorisFX. Plus show a few "FCP tips for Avid Editors."
Plus, we will have another round of Stump the Gurus, show and tells, and of course, World Famous Raffle. Plus Balloons. Also there will be time for you to get up in front of everyone and say what you need to say.
For complete info and directions to the Gallery Theater go to the lafcpug web site.
LAFCPUG Next Meeting (http://www.lafcpug.org/user_schedule.html)
lafcpug meetings are open to the public and we ask for a $5.00 donation at the door.
