Hi Folks,

I'm shooting an wedding in 2 weeks with my XL1-s. I want to use Canon consumer camcorders as stationary cams for b roll coverage. I was wondering for this type of application would I go with the Optura,Elura, or ZRs? I don't want to spend too much money since all the new camcorders are coming out but I need some way of covering different angles during the ceremony while using my XL1-s to focus on the bride and groom. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks Jerome

See if you can contact one of our members, Scott Brickert, he was offering a wedding package at one time using the Optura Xi.

The Opturas are not as sensitive in low light but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the quality you can get in good/decent lighting. And I think you'll have good success at matching the Optura images with the XL-1s.

If low light is a major issue, renting a couple of GL2s might be a better idea.

Hi Michael

I was thinking about renting 2 GL2s. The only issue is that the rental takes away from my bottom line. I probably should have charged more to cover the cost. Thanks for the info.

Any new Optura will give you a great image. I'd avoid the ZR series for this purpose.
