Hey all,

I shoot recitals with a pair of DVX100 cams.

I'm looking for an inexpensive way to switch to HD but with comparable - or close - lowlight capabilities.

With their decent amount of manual control and HD shooting how do the Canon HFS series compare? ie: the 10/100/20/21 shooting at 30p 1/60 shutter?

I ask as some of my studios like the dramatic lighting when the kids are on stage and the DVX handles it OK.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

sincerely,

ian

The camera I would recommend is the Panasonic TM700 / HS700, which is as good as the DVX100 in low-light situations, and records very low noise in dim light.

I've been using one for the past few weeks, and I've been very impressed with the results. Almost as good as my HMC150 in many cases.
