I don't know where to post this but this made me laugh so hard. It is a Craiglist response.
Have worked with these people. Avoid at all costs.
Here's what they want you to do for your $500:
- Digitize 8 DV tapes
- Edit a 3 minute creative music video of the wedding
- Edit a 15 minute "small movie" of the wedding
- Edit an hour long version of the ceremony
- Edit an hour long version of the reception
- Create DVD menus
- Go through two rounds of corrections, their's and the clients. Anything can be changed. They can even ask you to redo the whole thing. The people who run the company will contradict each other too. One will tell you they love a song and the other will tell you they hate it, but they won't know what the other has said and it's up to you to try to appease both parties.
- You must keep the footage and project files on your hard drive for at least 6 months. This is roughly 300 GB of material.
- Edits have to be of the highest quality. They reference Still Motion as a company they expect to compete with. Look up Still Motion. You'll crap your pants.
- Music is chosen by the editor and must fit within very specific guidelines. 90% of professional music out there will be considered unsuitable and you won't know until the corrections
