On my PC running Windows XP and with the use of the Sony PDZ-VX10 viewer I am able to preview
the mxf files as an image thumbnail in explorer which I find very helpful with editing.

I have a new laptop computer running the 64 bit version of windows 7. I have installed the same Sony PDZ-VX10 software(v 2.30) but am unable to get the thumbnail view of the clip in explorer. Does anyone know if this a known issue with Windows 7 or just the 64 bit version?

I have the same problem, Win 7 64 Ultimate. Tried all sorts of things, but nothing has worked.

Oddly, Edius 5 file requester does show thumbnails.

Doesn't assigning the viewer as the default app for .mxf file type help?

No. Already set up that way. I thought I had read somewhere that it is an issue with the 64 bit version of Win 7 but haven't been able to find any info on that claim.

I'm also not seeing icons for Sony MXF files in Windows 7 Explorer.

Anyone found a solution to this issue?
