I have a client that needs something shot next week on HDV, but my V1U is out and I wanted to use my EX3 set on Sp mode, which is HDV...the question is:

Can I shoot on the EX3 at SP mode, then by firewire, transfer the video to my V1u on VTR mode onto a HDV tape?

The client wants the final video on a tape, and I told him that I could send out the video on a hard drive, but I don't know and he does not know what version of FCP he has.....as he is out of his office at this time.

so any help....

Thanks

I just tried it with an A1U I use for a deck. Couldn't make it work.

I've had to do what you need to do... I just put the footage on a timeline in FCP or Vegas and do a "print to tape."

&

You just need to get your settings right.

Well, for the last 30 mins I tried the dub over....I got out my V1u and my EX3....shoot some footage around the house with the EX3 , then hooked everything up (fire wire) ...video and audio came into the V1u, but it would not record. I read all the manuals on both cameras.....but the V1u would only see it and not record it.....strange.
