Spring in the south is now in full swing. Landscapes and gardens all around Atlanta and its surrounding counties are full and lush. There has been a significant amount of rainfall this season and the colors are at their peak.

Nice tracking and jib shots Felipe.
Not a fan of the 5D but it does have a really nice colour / tonal quality to it I must admit.

Steve,
Thansk for your comments; yes I understand, and agree with you to some degree; I am considering getting and EX1 to complement the limitations I have.
Thanks,
Felipe

Filipe, that was stunning.

I don't want to turn this into a camera debate, but I have the 7D and an EX3 and there's no way an EX1/3 can come close to that. I realize for video production the DSLRs are limited but who cares when you can produce something as beautiful as that, for about a third of the cost no less.

You are incredibly lucky to be able to experience such a wonderful location first hand and I (we) am lucky that you could capture it as well as you have and shared it with the rest of us.

Thanks. I enjoyed it.

Felipe... great work.. Very beautiful. I am still trying to figure out why our 5D's get knocked so much. Your work here is proof of the greatness of these Canon cameras.

It gets knocked due to massive aliasing and a poor coded, plus operational issues. That's not to say you can't do good things with it if you're careful.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your nice comments; keep in mind that VDSRL is a new thing, and the 5d has been the Pioneer on this modality. I can still remember the days when attepmpting to do the same thing with a Super-8 Chinon and lots of money in film and processing; and still didn't even come close to waht we can do today with these marverlous machines. Having said that, desite the limitations, I like the 5d very much and the things I can do with it. Thanks again for your positive feedback.

Hi Chuck,
Thank you so much for your nice words about the film; I particularly like it when people use the word beautiful, it assures me then that they got what I wanted to convey; so thank you very much for stopping by and watching my video.

Now, regarding the camera and the location; I think they are the real starts here, I just happened to be there...

Your welcome.

The wonderful thing about the newer cameras, regardless of model, is that they seem to have crossed a threshold where its now possible for "good" photographers to produce imagery as stunning as this in HD.

I bet that if you mastered this on Blu-ray and played it back on a 50+ plasma it is breathtaking. Its also great that we can now easily and efficiently upload these videos to vimeo to share.

But I'd argue that although most people in that location would marvel at its beauty, they would not have captured it as gracefully as you did.

Hi Chuck,
I agree with you a 100%, I am quite pleased with these DSLRs and their ability to do video; yes, of course they have their limitations, but still great tools. If I could ask for one more feature, I would ask for 60p, but I am afraid that will be on the 5d MK3. Again, thank you very much for all your nice comments...

Hi Steve,
While the aliasing issues are well known anf documented, I would argue the use of the word "massive" in the sentence; of course that's just me. Now, the real question I would ask you based on the fact that you have evaluated the 5d to the extent that you're not a fan is the following: Hadn't I told you that the The Proposal had been filmed with the 5d would you had figured it by just watching the film? And if so, why? At any rate, thank you for the feedback and for taking the time to watch my video. Regards, Felipe
