Barry Nolan May 13th, 2010, 07:13 PM Tim,
You left the .zip of the download link.
David H. Wilson May 13th, 2010, 07:32 PM I seem to be having trouble with the Neo3D V5 b236 download. After downloading (twice) I receive the following error message when attempting to unzip the files:
! C:\develop\Cineform\Prospect3D\Neo3Dv500b253-100430\Neo3Dv500b256-100513\Neo3Dv500b256-100513.zip: CRC failed in Neo3D-5.0.0.256-Setup.exe. The file is corrupt
Many thanks,
David
Stephen Armour May 13th, 2010, 07:51 PM I've got worse: Page doesn't exist! "Page Not Found
We cannot locate the page you're looking for. Please check the address and make sure all letters are lowercased with no spaces. You may also move to a different page by using the links in the menu bar above. "
Just saw the post below: you left OFF the .zip at the end of the link, so it fails.
Stephen Armour May 13th, 2010, 08:10 PM TIm, I'm getting an "unsupported compression method" after the downloaded (after adding a .zip to the url link) file wouldn't decompress. I tried opening with 7zip and got the the above error message.
Something wacko, will redownload to check.
UPDATE: something is definitely wrong, I give up today
Jay Bloomfield May 13th, 2010, 08:41 PM It's not just you. The download link file is corrupted, or it's not really a zip file. It's not an exe file either. 7-zip and winrar both think it's unsupported. My hex editor has a structure display module and the file does not have a valid zip header. It is also not a rar or cab file.
We will have to wait until tomorrow.
EDIT: The beta build (255) of Neo 4K V5 still works and can be activated, in case any is in a bind tomorrow AM. The new build is 256.
Charles W. Hull May 13th, 2010, 09:55 PM It's not just you.....
We will have to wait until tomorrow.....
Sooooo close! Hopefully we will get a good file tomorrow.
David Taylor May 13th, 2010, 11:30 PM I apologize for the file download and extraction problems we had. I have no idea what caused them.
1. The Neo4K problem is fixed. Just add a .zip to the URL you received in the auto-email, or else request the email again.
2. I re-uploaded the Neo3D-Win download. I checked to make sure it is properly extracting now.
Sorry about that....
David H. Wilson May 14th, 2010, 12:05 AM The new Neo3D b256 seems to have a problem as well (at least for me). It does have a ,zip extension but on attempting to unzip the file, I receive the following message:
Neo3Dv500b256-100513.zip: CRC failed in Neo3D-5.0.0.256-Setup.exe. The file is corrupt
I have done two separate downloads of the file just to be sure.
Steven A. Sandt May 14th, 2010, 12:17 AM I turned in a trouble ticket about two hours ago. I added the .zip and it did download the file, but when I tried to open it, I got the same message as others are getting. It says that Windows can't open it and that it is invalid. I just tried again a few minutes ago-no dice. HELLLLLLLP!!!
Stephen Armour May 14th, 2010, 04:56 AM Re-downloaded the Neo4Kv500b256-100513.zip again (7:55am Natal time).
It's still corrupted and will not extract.
Edwin Baldwin May 14th, 2010, 05:29 AM I am upgrading to NeoHD, Do I deactivate Neoscene before unistalling it?

Leo Baker May 14th, 2010, 06:25 AM I am trying to fill out the free upgrade form for Prospect HD v4 to Neo 4k v5 I checked my spam/junk but no email has come through with the new key?
Gary Brun May 14th, 2010, 06:29 AM I think they must be working on it as I have tried quite a few times over the last 3 hrs and Im getting no email.
Jay Bloomfield May 14th, 2010, 09:25 AM There is one other thing I noticed. When I first requested an upgrade S/N, I eventually got an email back saying that my Prospect HD 4 S/N was invalid. Then I switched my browser from Firefox to Internet Explorer, requested an upgrade S/N and it worked. There might be a scripting issue on that web page.
Brant Gajda May 14th, 2010, 09:43 AM I used Firefox with no issues.
David Newman May 14th, 2010, 09:49 AM I replaced all the downloads with a classic old zip compression, just in case.
Stephen Armour May 14th, 2010, 10:05 AM The zip compression replacement did the trick for us. Thanks.
Marty Baggen May 14th, 2010, 10:40 AM My Win7 is unable to open the ZIP file just downloaded.
Should I initiate a new download?
UPDATE: Re-Downloaded and file unzips
David Newman May 14th, 2010, 10:57 AM Marty, the zip version used was the same one we've used for a year or two. Please try again.
Roger Averdahl May 14th, 2010, 11:22 AM I used Opera 10.53 and the purchase and zip-file worked as a charm. :)
Btw, the render times are truly fantastic compared to V4/CS4! You guys did a great job! :)
Stephen Armour May 14th, 2010, 11:26 AM Marty, I downloaded this new NEO 4K zip FOUR times (from last night to this morning.) Only after David replaced the zip method did a download finally work for us in Win 7.
Not sure what they did different, but never had that prob before, so something introduced a new factor that prevented those earlier zips from decompressing. Either some update from MS, or ??? who knows.
Charles W. Hull May 14th, 2010, 12:05 PM Marty, the zip version used was the same one we've used for a year or two. Please try again.
Marty, the new zip version worked for me and I have v5 up and activated.

Edit. Woops, I see by your update that you are now okay.
Brant Gajda May 14th, 2010, 12:27 PM Got my Neo 4k downloaded and activated just fine.
David H. Wilson May 14th, 2010, 02:52 PM Just fine now.
Marc Brackhahn May 14th, 2010, 03:07 PM I have a serial number and validation key for NeoHD v4 and it worked fine. I uninstalled NeoHD v4 to try the NeoHD v5 build 255 beta on a trial basis and of course that worked because I didn't need to register it. I uninstalled (did not deactivate) v5 build 255 to install v5 build 256 and I got a new validation key using the serial number for v4 but it doesn't work. It says invalid key. Where did I go wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
David Newman May 14th, 2010, 03:19 PM Marc, you purchased the v5 upgrade? You should have received a new serial number (via email) that can be used to request an new v5 activation code, just as if you where installing and activating for the first time. If something went wrong with the above, please email tbucklin@cineform.com or support@cineform.com.
Marc Brackhahn May 14th, 2010, 03:22 PM David, I just purchased NeoHD V4 3 weeks ago with the understanding the upgrade to v5 would be free.
David Newman May 14th, 2010, 03:28 PM It is free for all 2010 NeoHD purchases. You just need to request your new serial number for v5. Use the email listed as I don't know the steps involved.
Matthew Amirkhani May 14th, 2010, 03:39 PM Hi All,
I downloaded the Neosene upgrade V5 got the Activation Key but it dosen't install. Tells me it's a wrong key.
Please help me.
Thanks
Matthew
Marc Brackhahn May 14th, 2010, 03:44 PM Thanks David! I requested a new serial number.
David Newman May 14th, 2010, 03:44 PM Matthew,
That is a question for support. Support Center (http://bit.ly/d4kYGP)
Matthew Amirkhani May 14th, 2010, 09:30 PM Hi David,
Thanks I got it resolved with Tim Bucklin.
After upgrading to Neoscene V5 which codec version should it show in Vegas?
Thanks
Matthew
David Newman May 14th, 2010, 09:54 PM In the status viewer (in the systray) it will tell what you have install and what is available.
We are codec 6.2.3 now.
Idar Lettrem May 15th, 2010, 03:08 AM upgrading form PHD to NeoHD -> invalid activation key.
1) should my old PHD v4 be uninstalled or should it be deactivated prior to upgrading to NeoHDv5?
Confusion arises from the simple fact that it at one place it is stated that PHD should be uninstalled ( standard upgrading procedure) and another place it is stated that ”New activations are only provided after any existing activation has been deactivated. So - uninstalled or deactivated?
(This is on my w7 64 i5 portable)
2) will I - as entitled up until now - still be allowed to have two separate installations - one one my "field portable" and one on my main editing machine?
David Newman May 15th, 2010, 11:39 AM contact support or Tim Bucklin to get your new serial number.
James Strange May 17th, 2010, 09:08 AM I seem to be having the same problem,.
Purchased neoscene back in March.
Updated to V5 this morning, but now my activation key is invalid.
Went through the steps to get a new activation code, but that one was also invalid.
Emailed Tim as per this thread,
Hope to get it resolved soon
James
Tim Bucklin May 17th, 2010, 11:37 AM Prior to contacting support or myself, please read the link in the first post in this thread.
I'll post it again here for good measure: Cineform Tech Blog Blog Archive Neo Family v5 Upgrade Policy (http://techblog.cineform.com/?p=2885)
The support load is high right now because of all the upgrades, and the process is automated when following the instructions above. This is the fastest and easiest way to get a new serial number.
In case that article is not clear: If you are an existing Neo Scene customer and have purchased your copy since January 1, 2010, you MUST submit an upgrade form (FreeUpgrade (http://estore.cineform.com/freeupgrade.aspx)) to get a new Neo Scene v5 serial number. Then, you can activate your v5 product. If you just download and install v5 without getting a new serial number and activation key, it will run in trial mode and eventually expire.
The same goes for those upgrading from Prospect HD/4K v4 to Neo 4K v5.
If you purchased Neo Scene prior to 1/1/2010, you must purchase the upgrade to version 5 for $49 from our online store. Or, you can opt to upgrade to Neo HD for just $249.
Marc Brackhahn May 17th, 2010, 11:41 AM Where can I get the looks link? Thanks!
Robert Young May 17th, 2010, 12:36 PM I seem to be having the same problem,.

Updated to V5 this morning, but now my activation key is invalid.
Went through the steps to get a new activation code, but that one was also invalid.

Seems to be a lot of that happening. I'm upgrading from PHD v. 4 to Neo 4K v. 5.
Got the new v.5 serial #, install v. 5 went fine, but the activation key gives an "invalid Key" error msg.
I have a trouble ticket in- just hoping they can get to me before the trial period expires in 6 days.
Idar Lettrem May 17th, 2010, 02:51 PM just be sure you download neo4k and NOT neohd. I got it all wrong until I discovered that little, but significant difference !
Jay Bloomfield May 17th, 2010, 04:32 PM We are codec 6.2.3 now.
The updated NEO 4K build 256a zip file doesn't open properly for me with WinRAR or 7-Zip. It's giving the same "corrupted archive error" as earlier.
David Newman May 17th, 2010, 05:00 PM Weird, I use WinRAR and it works fine.
Gary Brun May 17th, 2010, 05:06 PM Works fine for me too using Winrar x64 3.91
Jay Bloomfield May 17th, 2010, 05:28 PM Well, I'm using WinRAR x64 3.90. Let me upgrade it and see what happens. 7-zip is the newest version, though.
I downloaded it again, updated WinRAR to V3.93 and it worked fine, but the new download also worked okay with 7-zip. I'm wondering if it has something to do with downloading through Firefox (which has a lot of script blocking). This time I tried IE instead to access the Cineform website download link. Sorry for the false alarm.
Randall Nott August 27th, 2010, 05:36 PM I own Prospect 4K v4 and should be eligible for the Neo 4K v5 upgrade. The question is I've been on the fence about upgrading to Neo 3D. I'm not ready to do it yet and the free upgrade offer ends Monday (Aug 30). Only if I upgrade from Prospect 4k it saves me 1499 off the Neo3D price, but upgrading from Neo 4K saves only 999. Or will the fact I had Prospect 4K still entitle me to the larger discount if I upgrade to Neo 3D later?
David Taylor August 28th, 2010, 05:15 PM Randall, after Aug 30 you are a Neo4K customer and the fact you had Prospect 4K is "forgotten".
