Can Final Cut Studio 2 be upgraded to the New Final Cut Studio?
I see no information stating what version you have to have to get the upgrade and do not want to purchase the upgrade and it be of no use to me.

I have a friend who decided that video was not for them, have a full version of Final Cut Studio 2, I am an Adobe Premier Pro user and do not know how old that version is, and Apple's policy on upgrading.

Thanks for any information.

You can upgrade from ANY version of Final Cut Pro to Final Cut Studio 3 (or whatever it is called) for the same $299 upgrade price. That's right, even from FCP 1. This makes it a GREAT deal for people like me that do NOT upgrade every version. A lot of people were complaining that FCS 3 wasn't enough of an uprade from FCS 2. I on the other hand, got to skip over 3 versions so for me it was a great deal. Of course I had to buy a new Mac as well, but that's another story....

Thanks Gabe, looked like that was the way it was but from a present Adobe guy, did not want to take that chance with out asking.

have a full version of Final Cut Studio 2,

Just make SURE it is a FULL version, and not an upgrade or else you will need the serial number FROM a FULL version.

And along with what Shaun said - make sure it's NOT an Academic version as those don't qualify for upgrades.
