I'm sorry if this was already brought up at some point.
Has anybody tried using the component from any HDV camera to capture uncompressed SD video? I'm not sure how the SD works right now with these cameras.
I see a lot of talk about capturing uncompressed HD but nobody really talks about how these can be cheap cameras for uncompressed SD work.
Uncompressed SD is a little bit more realistic area in terms of system power and hard drive space.
In the case of the SONY Z1 if uncompressed SD does work does CF25 and CF30 still work to give an umcompressed 25p or 30p?
HD is great but many of us will still be doing SD projects for at least a few years yet. There are ways of converting with software down to a high quality SD video but sometimes you want to work with footage quickly when you have your client right there with you to edit what you just shot in your studio.
