Can I get stereo sound through the external mic jack? Right now I only have a mono wireless lavalier mic but I'm thinking of getting a two channel XLR adapter that has a 1/8" plug for the camera.

I'm wondering if channel one will record as the left and channel two will record as the right? Or will both channels one and two get mixed together as a mono input to the camera?

It all depends on how the adapter is wired. You can get adapters that go from dual mono to stereo, which would put each input on a separate channel.

I'd double check with them, but I'm pretty sure all the JuicedLink and BeachTek adapters do this.
