Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I did search and had no luck.

I'm editing MOV files from my Canon T2i with Vegas Pro 9. I've been trying MPEG Streamclip to transcode files. The clips play back fine after transcoding, but playback becomes jerky when transitions are added.

Anyone have any troubleshooting ideas? I think my settings are OK - could post them.

You might try DVFilm Epic (http://dvfilm.com/epic) which will speed up playback of DSLR quicktimes in Vegas.

Eugenia and I are both moderators from another forum. I sent her the Matrox codec a while back to test the codec quality and pulldown removal result. Before that, Matrox locked their I-Frame HD codec for their hardware product use only. :)

I've used Edmond's method a number of times. Since using it I've had no problems with editing and rendering. I do tend to use a lot of transitions and some effects. Best thing -- it's free.
