My T2i is overexposing almost 2 stops in still mode when I use my Nikon manual lenses. It won't do this if I'm using some of the auto functions but I prefer to shoot manually.
It doesn't do this in movie mode even if I am taking stills.
Any idea why this is happening and if there is any way around it? Will this also happen on a 7D or 5D?

I can underexpose intentionally and then they come out properly exposed, but that's a weird way to shoot. I can also just take stills in movie mode but that means you get a shadowed band at top & bottom and can't use many of the still mode functions.

Thanks Joel, I know I saw it somewhere but couldn't find it. I'm doubt it has anything to do with the fotodiox in particular. Unfortunately not too much info on that thread either. How have you been handling it? Have you tried the 7D or 5D?

I'm thinking this is an issue with the T2i/550D only, as I haven't noticed any 7D or 5D owners mentioning it, though I haven't been looking for the problem specifically.

This is what I'm seeing when using a Nikon lens and the Fotodiox adapter:

Still Mode + Manual Exposure + Manual ISO + Live View or Viewfinder = Overexposed

As much as I hate giving control over to the camera I've been shooting stills when I'm using the Nikon lens with the ISO set on Auto. It works as it should.

I guess its generally OK except when something is backlit.
You can always shoot in Movie mode and sacrifice the top & bottom of the picture.
