I have a countryman B6 that I normally use with a sennheiser wireless G3. It's got the screw in 1/8 jack. I would like to be able to record wired sometimes so I'm not burning so many batteries - is there a way to do this? I am recording with a zoom H4N but I don't get any audio coming in. I have tried both the 1/8 in the back and the 1/4 with an adaptor on the bottom.

Is it just some special kind of mic that it can't be done like this?

thanks in advance!

The mic needs power that is normally provided by the connection to the wireless transmitter pack.
There are adapters you can buy that convert 48v phantom power to the correct voltage and connector of your mic.
There are also some audio recorders that provide power that works with mics wired for the Sennheiser transmitters.
You could also buy another mic for wired use only.
I don't know of a $0-cost solution to your question.

All the lavs I have for my G2 systems, (including a B6) work with my H2. However the 'plug-in power' needs to be activated via the software menu....
Addendum: I looked at the on-line PDF H4n manual. Select: " Menu> Input> Plug-in> On/Off ". (Page 031)
