Guy McLoughlin April 11th, 2010, 11:25 PM The largest size SDHC card is 32GB. You have to switch to the new SDXC cards for anything bigger, and only the latest new cameras can work with SDXC cards. Current pricing for 64GB SDXC cards is $350 each. I've been extremely happy with Patriot SDHC cards, and have recently switched to their 32GB IRIS SDHC cards which are designed for pro video recording, and come with a 5 year warranty. My cards write at 17 MB/sec and read at 20 MB/sec. Very fast cards. $94 in Canada for the 32GB Patriot IRIS SDHC card Newegg.ca (http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220444&cm_re=patriot_iris-_-20-220-444-_-Product) $93 in USA for the 32GB Patriot IRIS SDHC card Newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220444&cm_re=patriot_iris-_-20-220-444-_-Product) Patriot IRIS Memory Card Info Patriot Memory - Products (http://www.patriotmem.com/products/detailp.jsp?prodline=4&catid=68&prodgroupid=66&id=896&type=6) Randy Johnson April 25th, 2010, 05:16 PM Doesnt the HMC-150 support SDXC cards? Guy McLoughlin April 26th, 2010, 09:42 AM Doesnt the HMC-150 support SDXC cards? No it doesn't. Likely the next generation of HMC-150 will. Myself, I really don't care about SDXC cards right now. They are going to be expensive and hard to find until they are supported by the general consumer market. Randy Johnson April 26th, 2010, 10:15 AM To be honest I dont care either I do remeber a firmware update giving the HMC-150 the ability to use class 10 cards though. The only reason I want to see a 64 or 48 gig card is so the 32s will drop I dont like switching cards mid job and id like to just buy a couple 32 gig cards and be done with it. I cant justify $100 for a card where I can get 2 16s for like $30 each. Guy McLoughlin April 29th, 2010, 04:25 PM I cant justify $100 for a card where I can get 2 16s for like $30 each. I don't mind paying $93 for a 32GB Patriot IRIS card, as it's a great premium quality card, and gives me 3 hours of shooting time. ( this is insanely cheap compared to P2 cards ) The 16GB Patriot IRIS cards are $38 at NewEgg.com, so the premium I am paying for the 32GB card is only $17, and these cards will last me for years. |
