Not sure if this post belongs in this category. I'm trying to password protect an external hard-drive that will be used to hold media. I've read posts about how you can do this in disk utility by creating a disk image.
I need a really simple explanation of how to do this.

What operating system are you running?

Check out TrueCrypt (http://www.truecrypt.org/) ... which just happens to also be an open source project.

It covers Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems.
