Been trying to get Magic Bullet Looks to work with Final Cut Pro 7 for some time now and have had little (intermittent at best) luck getting the plugin (LooksBuilder) to launch.
Tried launching the plugin every way known to man (dragging the effect from the browser onto a clip in the viewer, double-clicking the effect when a clip is loaded in the viewer, dragging and dropping the plugin from browser directly onto a clip in the timeline, going through the Effects->Video Filters menus, etc.) No one way works better than any other.
Each time it shows up in the filter tab under Video Filters in the viewer window, but it only launches the LooksBuilder window about 20% of the time. Even from there, clicking 'Edit' directly in the Looks portion of the VF tab rarely works.
I've upgraded the plugin, upgraded from 10.5.8 to 10.6.3, upgraded FCP 7.0.1 to 7.0.2, and removed the plugin and reinstalled it in that exact order. I made sure to test the results in between each change.
Called and emailed Red Giant a couple times and have yet to hear a response.
I'm perplexed. Anyone experiencing similar problems or have a potential solution?
Thanks in advance.
