Is it possible to copy the font size and other attributes to other generated events?

Unfortunately no.
Doing this copies every attribute, text included.
We've been asking for this feature for a very long time but Sony still hasn't complied :-(

The annoying thing is you can do it in DVD-A

I do this all the time but i guess i look at it from a different point of view.
Just copy the orig generated text (new copy, not new instance) then open up the text, delete and type your new text.
You have to type your new text anyway, so no time wasted there, you're just doing it in the template you have already created.

That's because the Button doesn't have a Time, temporal element to it. Whereas GenMeds, on the Vegas Timeline, would have too, and this has not been programmed into the coding. Same for ProTypeTitler . . maybe one day . . .

DVDA also has External Monitor Overlays - SafeAreas. Vegas - nuh-uh!.

I've also been using the stated technique of putting a new copy of pre-generated text on the timeline, with just one word pre-typed so there isn't much to replace but I can see the look of the typeface I'm working with.

I have also started keeping the video's script open in word processing software. That way I can cut and paste from the video script directly into the generated text editor in Vegas. If you have your word processing page formatted correctly, there isn't much re-aligning and re-spacing to be done. This requires some experimentation however.
At least I'm eliminating the retyping.
