Is it possible to copy the font size and other attributes to other generated events?
View Full Version : How can I Copy/Paste attributes of Generated Text? Paul Cascio April 5th, 2010, 04:53 PM Is it possible to copy the font size and other attributes to other generated events? Mike Kujbida April 5th, 2010, 05:54 PM Unfortunately no. Doing this copies every attribute, text included. We've been asking for this feature for a very long time but Sony still hasn't complied :-( Paul Cascio April 6th, 2010, 04:45 AM Thanks Mike. Zulqar Cheema April 6th, 2010, 04:59 AM The annoying thing is you can do it in DVD-A Gerald Webb April 7th, 2010, 02:31 PM I do this all the time but i guess i look at it from a different point of view. Just copy the orig generated text (new copy, not new instance) then open up the text, delete and type your new text. You have to type your new text anyway, so no time wasted there, you're just doing it in the template you have already created. Zulqar Cheema April 7th, 2010, 04:23 PM Good idea Gerald , but I was getting the feeling the other text was already done and he wanted to change the font/colour etc as per the master text clip Paul Cascio April 8th, 2010, 04:23 AM Good tip Gerald. I've been doing that, but I was hoping to apply it retroactively as Zulgar noted. Gerald Webb April 8th, 2010, 04:37 AM soz guys, lol, should read b4 i write. Graham Bernard April 8th, 2010, 09:57 AM The annoying thing is you can do it in DVD-A That's because the Button doesn't have a Time, temporal element to it. Whereas GenMeds, on the Vegas Timeline, would have too, and this has not been programmed into the coding. Same for ProTypeTitler . . maybe one day . . . DVDA also has External Monitor Overlays - SafeAreas. Vegas - nuh-uh!. Grazie Jay Massengill April 8th, 2010, 10:06 AM I've also been using the stated technique of putting a new copy of pre-generated text on the timeline, with just one word pre-typed so there isn't much to replace but I can see the look of the typeface I'm working with. I have also started keeping the video's script open in word processing software. That way I can cut and paste from the video script directly into the generated text editor in Vegas. If you have your word processing page formatted correctly, there isn't much re-aligning and re-spacing to be done. This requires some experimentation however. At least I'm eliminating the retyping. |
