Hi Ross--

I bought everything in order to produce two projects for a local company, both of which are now complete. Though I was able to make some money on the projects, video is very much a side pursuit for me and not my main career. I don't know if I'll have enough work coming my way in the future to justify the cost of the equipment--

(I also have a good friend who has agreed to let me rent his GL2 in the chance that I need one again in the future).

The bright side is that my equipment is in great condition and I'm looking to sell it!

Hi All,
I am in need of a minidisc recorder (not just player), on the cheap. It doesn't have to be a flashy new model or anything, actually it shouldn't be since I can't pay for one. All I really need is one that has a mic in jack (some just have line in) so I can do live recordings. Thanks so much!

Hey guys,

I have 5 boxes of 5-pack Panasonic AY-DVM63PQ miniDV/DVCAM Professional tapes (25 count). They seem to be VERY popular amongst the forum for the best quality/price ratio. I've used them extensively in my PD150 and've never had a head/dropout etc problem.

I'm asking (revised) $90 + s/h (revised) . I'm selling my Sony PD150 and won't need these anymore. I just want to get most of what I paid for them back.

Thanks for looking.

Check eBay for a Sharp MT-15. Unlike many of the Sonys, it lets you monitor and vary volume while its recording. I use one for field recording -- street musicians, ambient sound and the like. It works great (I think I paid around $75 for mine).

I was thinking of selling my Sony MZ-N1 netMD unit. Only used 20-30 hours tops. Bought it maybe 2 years ago, was the top of the line Sony MD player, possibly the smallest they've ever made. Paid $350-400 for it. They sell used on Ebay for $150-$250. I'd probably sell it for something in between. Not sure if that is out of your price range or not. I know you can buy lower end models less than that new. Let me know if you are interested.

Lyndon Golanowski

Ok, $2600 USD!

Brian Huey
January 22nd, 2004, 08:02 PM
Chris, you may need to lower that price a bit. Those tapes are available from site sponsor EVS (http://www.evsonline.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=AYDVM63PQ) for $4.19 a tape ($105 for 25) + shipping. Pro-Tape has them for slightly less but they don't seem to be listed as a site sponsor anymore, not sure what the deal is there.

But to anyone interested, I'm using these tapes exclusively with my GL2 and they've been great.

Cheers,
Brian

Perhaps should you revise your price. You can have a new one new from EVS (this board's sponsor) for 2224$ USD. Plus, you get the 250$ mail-in rebate...

These are brand new, unopened!

Thanks for the info guys!!

Dylan, thanks so much for the offer, but that is out of my range, I'm looking for sub-$100 if I can find it. I really only want to buy a cheap one to use for a film class so I don't have to go through the hassle of trying to take one out at school, (as for the rental lady, think Seinfeld's "Soup Nazi" only more harsh, lol).

Paul, thanks for the suggestion, that looks like the type of thing I am looking for! I have been torn between Sony and Sharp as I have heard good and bad things about each. But really I just need somethig functional and cheap.

The original items i wanted to sell are still available. Didn't really make any effort pushing these items.

1. TRV900 3CCD NTSC.
1. Vitacon semi-fish eye .45x
2. Kenko 05 PRO 0.5X Wide Angle
3. Sony Condenser microphone ECM-HS1

Dropping price to US$1200 + shipping.

Any interest?

Frank Granovski
January 23rd, 2004, 08:30 AM
You may also want to try e-bay. The TRV900 is a darn good cam, well built, solid---heck, I can't believe no one snatched it from you yet.Vancouver - an addicted city? haha. I had the impression nothing really happens down there. (kidding)Vancouver is officially Canada's bank robbery capital, and the car theft capital of North America. Furthermore, British Columbia's 2nd largest industry is growing and exporting the funny stuff people smoke. The Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics should be interesting.

Fat Cat Media, Inc. is selling all gear except our editing package. We started out with a great reception and tons of work. Sadly a family illness (my dad has terminal cancer, mom has spinal problems) have caused us to make some major changes. We are selling our home and moving back to Texas to take care of the folks. For now we have decided to close the business.

We bought equipment based on excellent recommendations from forum members. Even purchased a few things here. All gear was purchased between May-December 2003.

Please see a partial list at: "http://www.fatcatmedia.biz/gear/". I will post photos of the actual gear a.s.a.p. We are madly packing & prepping for the move so not much time for internet things.

Additional gear we have:

Firestore unit with battery for remote work, original papers, etc. in excellent condition.

A Bogen 3066 head in excellent condition.

Wind block for the ME-66

Large Pelican case with wheels.

*The GL2 comes with original box, papers, etc. and only has approximately 23 hours on it. Also comes with an extended warranty.

All gear unless otherwise stated has original papers and is unregistered. Everything is in mint condition as little time was available for use. The Tiffen filters have never been used.

We are looking for the highest offer to recoup as much as possible realizing that there will be some loss. Please send questions and/or reasonable offers to "fatcatmediainc@yahoo.com" or "fatcatmedia@yahoo.com".

Thank you again for all your help to the wonderful forum members. Please help us find good homes for this awesome gear. God Bless, Roze
