I want to use a Manfrotto 190xdb with something like this:

Smith-Victor | Universal Tripod Dolly A | 701210 | B&H Photo (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=NavBar&A=getItemDetail&Q=&sku=329010&is=REG&si=rev#anchorToReadReviews)

Is it possible, or are there some designs differences with the tripod legs and this dolly's attachment? I'm hoping this type of thing would be universal standards.

Er, yes and no.

Depends on whether they are compatible, sometimes they are, sometimes, not.

In your case, as the 190 is a round leg design without spikes, I think you'll get it right with that dolly, as it appears to have screw type retainers for the tripod legs, which means as long as they go in the appropriate holes you're good to go.

There doesn't seem to be any such thing as a "universal standard" anything at that level of equipment, bar the head fixing.
