I always get asked, "Why - or how - do you have the 'Go Go Godzilla' moniker for your screen-name here on DVinfo?" Here's the story:

Way back in 2004 I was working on a demo for an instructional DVD I wanted to publish. My original concept was to have a "hired gun" be the on-camera talent but instead it ended up being yours truly.

During the planning and review stages of that demo I taped the discussions I had with my best friend who helped me put it together. In that session I lamented how much I felt I looked like the famed sci-fi monster on-camera after having put on quite a bit of weight following some uber-stressful times.

About a year or so later I met Chris Hurd, the owner of DVinfo, and gave him a copy of what later became the "real" demo which included the blooper reel of the "concept" demo which had the above-mentioned discussion and visuals. After that he assigned me the Godzilla nickname and I've worn it proudly ever since.

I'd have to watch the video again to pick the exact spot, but I think you actually pronounced it as "Gutzilla" at one stage. Maybe it's the accent?

I'd always wondered where your custom title came from, and this gag reel is a better explanation than I could ever have hoped for! I couldn't stop laughing until well after it was over.

I feel your pain. That video is basically the conversation I have with myself every time I enter the DV Challenge and have to act in one of my movies. "What the hell is that on my face?" and "Oh my God, who wants to watch this?" and "That's no moon." I can't count the number of projects I've let go unfinished because of the same sentiment you express in this clip.
