We've been tossing the SDHC thing around here lately and today I've narrowed down a strange behavior that I've seen on and off over the last couple shoots...
If I "delete all clips" while in camera mode, the SDHC card becomes unreadable by a computer (asks me to format, thinks the card is 27.4 GB when it's a 16) and if I take the computer's advice and format it (in the computer), the card appears to be toast forever.
...maybe this is normal and I've only recently run into it when checking through cards to verify media has been transferred, and I grab one that's been cleared? I don't know...
I put the card back in the EX1 (firmware 1.11, MxM) and it's perfectly happy, record one clip...and the computer likes it again.
I know the SDHC route is not as robust as the SxS cards and all that sort of thing, but I've really not seen much of an issue over the long run...even this really isn't a huge problem now that I know what the deal is...but it's definitely a quirk.
I'm curious if anyone else has seen this sort of thing.
...or, is it simply my technology kharma?
