Hi guys,
I just want to share my first save the date video. Feel free to give me comments (constructive). I really want to improve my craft in the future and I think there is no better way to do it than taking advice from the pros here!!!

What effect exactly was it when you did the very low opacity red (a flag?) that flashed over it several times?

Ryan,
It is a stock footage laid on top of the clip with opacity lowered down to around 40-50%.

Very nice job. Really. Beautiful shots of San Francisco.
2 quick constructive criticisms.
A) Closeups. There were virtually no close-ups. 99.9% of the footage was wide and medium shots. I saw no detail shots, especially no close-up of the engagement ring. After a while, the majestic landscape shots lose their value because every other shot is a wide shot. I was begging for a CU that never came.
B) They're not actors. When the bride yelled "Yes", I cringed. The couple are not actors, and therefore unless they're able to successful do it, I don't like to hear them try to say a line or two. It takes away from the charm of the piece.
Overall though, nice job.

Also, I really liked the Glidetrack look. It's an impressive look and feel. Kudos on that.

Sigmund,
I really enjoyed the shot where he was twirling her around and the camera turned around them. As a newcomer, I have no idea how you did that but it was nice. How long did it take you to do?

@Chris - thank you for the input. The no CUs were special request by the couple.
Yes, youre right, it is hard to do #2 especially if the couples are camera shy.
My glidetrack is a shooter, so I think I needed a longer glidetrack for weddings.
@art - the twirling shot took me about 4 takes. The overall video took me days since I work during the weekdays. It took me 100x or more to listen to the music background. I do this when Im driving.
can you imagine guys that it was pouring the whole day. We had to use umbrella to protect my camera : )
