Hi All
Just a little heads-up -- a MEDIA EMPTY operation is not possible unless the cam is connected to mains power via a charger unit and the DK-415. The cam will simply not offer you the option to do it when a battery is attached.
It's obviously advisable to do a MEDIA EMPTY operation on mains power, because it can take more than an hour on the FMU128 and you have to start again from the beginning if the power goes out during the operation, but I think it a real problem that the camera PREVENTS you from doing it on batteries given that it's still not clear that small bits of corrupt memory might be triggering the dreaded 'buffer overflow' problem, and that one might want to completely reformat ones memory on a regular basis to combat this.
We should have the option to take the battery 'risk'!
Can Sony not make a MEDIA EMPTY operation possible with a firmware update?
Cheers
Adam
