Everyone knows about the recent 5D updates, but it seems like 7D users aren't really demanding the same from Canon. Is it just generally expected we'll get these updates?
5D owners yelled about everything and got everything. People that own and 7Ds, T2is, and especially 1DMK4 owners (who paid 5k for their cameras!) seem to just be taking it quietly.
I'd like to at least hear from Canon that we're expected to get them at some point in time.

I wouldn't say we 5D2 owners got everything.

We got 24p (which is HUGE) and that matches the 7D.

We got manual audio (which we already had with Magic Lantern), but we didn't get the headphone output.

We got live histogram, which is cool, but not huge.

What we didn't get:
* 720p60 for slow motion (which the 7D has)
* HD HDMI during recording (which the 7D has)
* Live headphone output (which Magic Lantern has)

I'm not complaining. I've owned the camera since the auto-exposure only days. 24p rocks!

The only things for 7D owners to be jealous of is manual audio and live histogram. Hopefully, Magic Lantern will be developed for the 7D. If so, you'll get those features and more.
