Hey there...

I am getting ready to shoot a documentary that will eventually be transfered to film. The film folk tell me to shoot in 24p...just don't know if it should be 24p or 24pA. I am not a newbie to video...but am a newbie to 24p.

How does the V1U handle 24p---I know it was a "selling point" of the camera when it came out.

Any video tips and tricks for shooting in bright sunlight (desert) and also three point lighting...depth of field etc.

I am going to be editing a short film trailer on FCP7. I think FCP7 makes log/capture easy for 24p...correct?

The 24p mode is really 24 frames in 60i wrapper. It's meant to edit in a 60i timeline and give you the look of 24 frames converted to 60i (also known as 2:3 pulldown) It will not give you a true 24 frame product for the web or film out.

The 24A mode is for editing in a 24 frame (really 23.97 NTSC) timeline. Here is a link on how to capture to ProRes and remove the pulldown giving you a true 24 frame progressive capture.
