Mac OS 10.6.2
Roxio Toast 10.0.6

Using Toast's Video AVCHD Archive feature, files archived to single discs (DVD-R, DVD+DL, BD 25GB) all are seen in iMovie 09 and Final Cut Pro 7.0.1.

Archives which span discs, which is common when using full 32GB SDHC cards are not read by either iMovie or FCP. I suspect Toast has a bug when creating the metadata for spanned discs.

Has anybody else used Toast's AVCHD Archive feature and either experienced this issue or otherwise found that the resultant archive was read in iMovie or FCP?

I wonder how people are archiving AVCHD to be used in Final Cut Pro. No answers at all.

I spoke to Roxio, the ticket has been open more than a month. They confirmed more workflow is correct. They are now going to test and confirm on their end.

Is there a single other Toast user here who confirm they've tested and noted this issue as well?

Gain the issue is ONLY spanned discs. Single discs of archived AVCHD are recognized by iMovie 09 and Final Cut Pro 7.

I can't imagine how people are archiving BDMV. Using hard drives alone is not a reliable and enduring backup.

Apparently no one is using or has attempted to use Toast for that function even though they advertise it as a feature.
