Is there a solution to recording direct to portable hard drives off the HD/SDI?
Not to a Nanoflash or Ki Pro, but to a regular HD? With or without a Macbook pro in the equasion.

Well, this search (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=sdi+hard+drive&N=0&InitialSearch=yes) seems to indicate it is possible.

What I was hoping for is the ability to feed a user supplied HD, not something that is part of the third party package.
SDI > ??? > MBP > off the shelf portable HD

This would do it, but I don't think you can get just yet. Has internal 2.5" for SSD, and eSata for external. Records 10bit Cineform through to uncompressed.

yea, the cinedeck would do it but it is expensive. I don't need another monitor. wonder if they will make a stripped down version that only does what I'm looking for. It has to be on someones desk, perhaps at nab?
