View Full Version : thoughts on the announcment of this Sigma lens... Dave Timperley February 20th, 2010, 05:39 PM Sigma launches stabilized 70-200mm F2.8 telezoom: Digital Photography Review (http://www.dpreview.com/news/1002/10022016sigma70mm200mm.asp) Daniel Browning February 20th, 2010, 06:50 PM Looks promising. The many negative reviews of their previous 70-200 lenses were enough to keep me away from them, so I will be interested to see if they do better at pleasing the reviewers this time. I think it's great that they are including a hood adapter for APS-C lenses like the 7D. Personally, I'm more interested in their new 85mm F1.4 EX DG. If it matches the performance of their 50mm f/1.4 and doesn't cost too much, I'll be very interested. Marty Hudzik February 20th, 2010, 10:32 PM Any ideas on pricing? Canon press releases usually include that don't they? Randy Panado February 21st, 2010, 01:50 AM I've shot with the 70-200 II from sigma quite a bit and LOVE the way it resolves. If this has the same "look", it should be a winner. Price it below the canon 70-200 2.8 IS by about $400-$600 and it'll fly off the shelves. |
