Ah, cool to know it is a red shouldered hawk. Makes sense. I got 1 poor shot of it taking flight and you can really see the red color located directly on the "shoulders."

Not going to be able to pull it together for this one.... too many health, job and family issues converging to make it impossible.

Good afternoon.
Just wanna pop in and tell about the winter situation right now.
It's a strange situation in our county, Moere and Romsdal.
My father (age 81) can not remember so much snow and for such a long periode since he was a little boy.
The last days more snow has landed, (huge masses) and yesterday it shifted to mild weather.
So because of the great danger of avalanches, many of our main roads are closed down.
Yesterday I was cross country skiing in the mountains, trying to get some shots for this round of uwol, but had to turn my face back home again.
Too rough weather for my taste, and for my camera too.
I give you 2 pictures showing the snowstorm coming, and the other one showing fine weather.
It's not taken from the same spot, so the angle will be different, but you can see a yellow lift/crane down to the left in both of the pictures.
It's the same crane.
Fortunately, no one has died from avalanches. Our majestic mountains are a beautiful sight, but can also be deadly trap.
So it is a good reminder that we show respect for nature and the natural forces.

Nice photos, Geir!
Seen a couple of those, and it's spectacular everytime.
Stay safe and away from the steep mountain sides up there!

It's a wrap!
My video is done, and still many days ahead of deadline. Yay!
Still not perfect, but I have learned something while making it, and that's one of the goals, right.
(A good thing I'm done, since my job gives me no time for video the rest of this week)

Well, I went out on a limb and scripted a short about 3 weeks ago calling for around 55 scenes. The challenge for me then was to see if what I envisioned could be brought to life as I envisioned it. Might not be able to get everything I wanted but hope to be able to cobble something together. Trying some different things like camera angles and filming silent and then creating the sounds and dubbing over. Fingers crossed, knocking on wood!

Good evening,

Well, in spite of constant computer problems the last couple days (constant crashing), I put the finishing touches on my video. I did not get all the shots I wanted (missed just two) had the weather change so dramaticly I could not reshoot any shots I had already.

Went to cut the mp4 version for vimeo, my computer with 10 gigs of ram says it is to short on memory!!! Go figure that one!!!

spent the afternoon tweeking the operating system, cleaning drives and now defraging them too.

Seems there is always something new!!!

Well, I have uploaded my video to Vimeo.
Now I wonder how this is gonna be?
Do we put a link into Dales submission thread or do we make our own feedback thread with a link?

Geir,

You email the link to your video to Dale. And then Dale will post a single thread/post with all the links.
And after Dale has posted that thread, you can make your own feedback thread.
(here you can of course include your own link as we use to)

I wasn't able to put anything together this time. I was, finally, able to take Dale's advice and get out there. I did manage to get the camera on the new tripod for the first time and rule 11 was, somewhat, observed. I can't wait to see your videos. Good luck to all!

I am in the tank as well, darn large thing that it is, I haven't met up with any of you yet, so I guess most of you actually were able to put something together.

My camera and gear never made it out oftheir bags.

I really hate moving houses, and furniture, and.....

Yeah. *Cringe.*

I didn't get mine together. I'll try to post a link outside the contest anyways.
