I Know this may be a bit basic, but I'm backing up and transferring projects to bigger faster discs in anticipation of upgrading my G5 PM to a new MP ASA they come out.

I've always just popped drives into the G5 & they seemed to work fine, should I format them first and if so is there a preferred formatting?
