Hello,
i am using EX1R and Avid Media Composer 4.
I can handle xdcam files but i need your help to output the sequence.
I want to import it into Adobe Encore to burn a DVD or a BluRay disc.
I have try to export as QT Reference and Avid reffused telling it is impossible to export QT Ref when using XDCAM HD files.
In what format i will able to export?
I am working with HD 1920 and also with DV format projects.

Thanks

Try exporting it as a stand alone movie if you have the harddrive space. Long Gop formats probably don't work for reference files do to the multiframe compression being hard to recreate on the fly.

Exactly this....
It says unable to export because of Long Gop Format(or something like that)...
So i have to export as QT movie. But it takes a lot lot lot lot of time.

Try making a mixdown to a non-long-gop then QT ref from that. Check out the avid.com MC forums.

Ronn is correct on this one - I do it all the time. Select "perform video mixdown" from the menus, then replace the video in the long GOP sequence with the video mixdown. You can then export to any DVD authoring program using Quicktime reference or other codec if you wish. I have been using Avid DVD very successfully for Blue ray and Std DVD. There are several tutorials on the MC forum by Douglas Bruce that show exactly how to do this.

Absolutely.

What about the time needed?
I am thinking that i need at least 2Xreal time to mixdown and the same to trascode into Encore to MPEG2 or H264.
So, for a 2 hours project i need approx 6-8 hours.
Am i right, or i missed something?
