I have a 7D and the Tascam DR-100 recorder. Has anybody used this combo and fed the output from either the headphone or line level output straight to the 7D to record to the 7D what the Tascam is recording? I tried with an 1/8" cable and as expected the line-to-mic signal sounded distorted but so did the headphone out too.

Anybody done this successfully? Maybe I need a line/mic pad?

You can get a short cable with the pad from DVCreators.net, about $45 (USD).
