I have attached a screenshot from a test shoot we completed today using a JVC GY-HD111e connected to a Shoot35 adapter (if you wondered why the grab includes some extra grain) with a 50mm f1.4 Nikon lens.

The problem I have is that I think the shots look too pink and soft. I had been using TC3 but in the end reverted back to the factory settings as this seem to make the problem worse.

My settings are as follows:

HDV25P
Master black - normal
Detail = normal
V/H balance = normal
H Frequency = middle
Skin detect = off
Level = -2
Black = normal

White clip = 108%
Knee = auto
Motion smooth = off
DNR = off

Cinelike = off
Colour matrix = standard
R Gain = normal
R Rotation = normal
G Gain = 1
G Rotation = -1
B Gain = normal
B Rotation = normal
Gamma = standard
Level = normal
Colour gain = normal
White paint R = normal
White paint B = normal

I once attempted to use Onlocation with a DSC colour chart to get it a bit less pink (hence the green matrix adjustments) but didn't have time to do it properly before I had to send it back.

Please does anyone have any ideas how I might get my picture looking a little more natural. Maybe some clues as to what settings I might tweak. I have always found the camera rather too soft and pink for my liking and have even considered that it might not have been calibrated properly. Is it possible to get it recalibrated in the UK, if so I wonder how much this might cost.

P.S. Make sure you evaluate you pix via a calibrated broadcast monitor. As you know a computer monitor is not accurate.

I have tried TC3 before and it made no difference to this problem. I guess what I am after is just a little advice as to what controls I can tweak to make the picture better based on my screenshot.

I will however try it again just to see if it might make a difference.

The ideal situation is if you had a DSC-color chart, and adjust the camera on a vector-scope. And save that as you default scene.
