Hi guys,
I have a 7D and an Xha1 and I would like to have them color-matched.
Now it's easy to see what is filmed with the 7D and what with the Xha1
Are there any plugins that do a good job by doing this automatically ?

Me too. (Although with a 5D2.) Unfortunately, I have not had much success. Ultimately, a really close color match will be impossible for a wide range of colors, because the spectral response is just too different: 3-chip cameras split light in a very different way from CFA; they always have even crossovers between RGB. CFA can have a crossover of any shape desired, so the color can be very different. That said, even with nearly default settings (e.g. Neutral profile) they are close enough for things like wedding videos.

I'm working oin the same problem, but have been to busy to spend any real time on this issue. I've been shooting with an H1 and 2 a1's for a few years, have added the 7D to my arsenal. The neutral setting on the 7D definately gives you more leeway. I have a couple of custom settings on my H1 and A1's that I use a lot, and hopefully I can tweak one to be a closer match to the 7D in neutral.

The other issue is the overall look and the more cinematic background ( even with deeper dof) of the 7d. I recently shot a very LOW budget short for a guy, and used the A1 with the Letus extreme on most of it. I used the 7D on a few shots ( he was afraid he wouldn;'t be able to color match). On a couple of steadycam shots, and one dolly I used the A1 without Letus, and you really see the difference there. I had just gotten the 7D and used the standard setting on that particular shoot.

here's a link to a very rough cut of a trailer ( I had nothing to do with editing)

See if you can tell which were the 7d shots ( only a couple, I think).
