I'm interested in finding a decent B cam for my JVC HD 200U... Any ideas?
I would like to pick something up used under 800$. I know a lot of people use the HV 20's - 40's... Would this be acceptable?

I have a Canon HV30. It's not bad at all along side my HD250. I shoot 24p and convert to Cineform for post. Most people can't tell the difference. It does require a little color correction to get it to match, but any camera will. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the response Chad... I think I'll pick one up.

I use the Canon HFS100 and love it. The picture from the Canon works well with the JVC.

I just traded a DVX100 for a HV40 and happy I did... they image compares pretty well...

really? I was thinking of getting a used DVX100a/b to shoot 24p and color match my HD110. You like the HV40 series more? I know the resolution may match easier.. and native widescreen vs anamorphic stretch... But you can get the color fairly close in camera? Tell me more.

If you can up your budget a bit you can pick up an older HD100. I paid $1500 for mine, I'm sure you could find one cheaper if you searched enough.

was planning on that as well! maybe even throw my MTF and a 80mm Nikkor on it for close ups and run my 2nd HD110 next to it shooting 20-50mm with the stock lens. But would be nice to use a few of the cheaper Canon HV40's around.. (thinking of a live performance actually with 8 bands this summer)
