Hello,

I've used the Secondary Color Corrector numerous times to create a single-color "color pass" (i.e. only red shows through black and white footage). What I'm needing to do is to isolate two colors. How do I accomplish this? It looks like the color selector dropper will only allow me to chose one color range at a time.

Check out Edward Troxel's newsletters, specifically Vol. 2, Issue 10 (http://www.jetdv.com/vegas/forum/viewtopic.php?t=298) for the article "Color Pass Reprised - Passing Multiple Colors ".

Apply the effect twice.
Drag the colour corrector onto the clip, do your selection etc etc.
Untick applied effect box.
Then drag the colour corrector onto the clip again, do your next selection.
Retick the first effect box.

After you do the first selection you'll have to go to the applied effect on that clip and untick the effect box, temporarily unapplying the first effect, otherwise you won't be able to pick your 2nd colour because the clip will be black and white except for the first colour.

There is another easy way to do multiple colour pass, using the chroma key filter.
With this method, you need only two tracks (no matter how many colour you want to pass)

However, I was responding to our chum using 2nd Colour Corrector as a tool for the purpose in hand. And, with 2nd CC, you get a vast array of control for Colour, Gamma, Luminance and so on in manipulating the Mask. Your approach means one can do fairly accurate colour segmentation in JUST one Track - which is a good thing. Using the 2nd colour corrector approach means one would HAVE to use a Track per colour Selection, but one could be a bit more exact and particular?

Pity we can't combine both approaches? - Now there's a thought!
