I am pretty sure that the lens will go very well with the camera provided it is what you require. The 350 comes with ALAC circuitry to minimise chromatic aberration. The stock lens has this feature incorporated.

As I understand it, more and more lenses are being setup with ALAC updates, so to benefit from this, check with Fujinon as to whether the lens can be updated. Although it is not the "be all and end all" it is a very nice feature to have, that is for certain.

If you have the opportunity to test the camera with the lens you propose to buy before buying it, you would then be in a position to make a very informed decision as to its suitability for you. You might want to test a few lenses to make sure from a technical and an operational standpoint, as some lenses will essentially double the overall investment cost! Your proposed lens costs more than the camera but then again, so do many well made lenses.

Best wishes

This is a superb lens. I use it with an HDCAM 730s. I would not worry about CA compensation as there is no need for it. I will be getting a 350 in due course and will use this lens and a Fuji HA 18-7.6 BERM.

Thanks David for your input realy appreciated. Bruce the fuji 18-7.6 was my next choice(one reason was because it was a lot cheaper) could you tell me which lens you like best and why please if you have got the time to reply. Just want to make sure i make the right choice. Thanks Wilf.

The wide lens has a wow factor in it's quality. The standard 18-1 is ok but not outstanding. Someone else has written in more detail of how HD lenses vary in quality. Don't get me wrong the 18-1 gives good pictures rather than outstanding ones. The Canon equivalant may be better but I have always had Fuji and have the zoom demand for their products. Having said that it is a real lens not a compromised industrial grade or whatever they call it.
