I just received my Pegasus Heavy lifter from Cinevate and am trying to decide the best method of supporting it. I thought those of you who have sliders can offer words of experience: tripod or grip stand?
The plates on the end caps will support just about anything with threads, so that is not the issue. I'm wondering which will provide the most flexibility, a stand or tripod. The tripod has the advantage of being able to go low to the ground by spreading the legs, certainly lower than a C-stand or light stand. The grip stand has the advantage of a removable stud which makes attachment easier. I found it to be a bit awkward to "screw" the thread on the top of my tripod into the slider while holding the slider.
