I remember reading a post on here a few months ago about firewire burning out the board because some power issues. There was either an adapter or cable that fixes this problem. Can anyone tell me where to get one... don't want to burn out my board. Looked through the posts and can't find the one I saw before.
Thanks,
Rich

Try firewiredepot.com
I think they call it a port isolator.
I have one and use it religiously.
The link in the previous post does not seem to work anymore, but the item looks just like the picture.
Good Luck!

Hi Richard,
Glad you could find the Isolator. Just be sure to USE IT.
As you say: "In life there are no second takes"
Also, it's important to secure the connection some way so that it doesn't accidentally get yanked out in the heat of the frenzy. What I do is form a loop near the connection and velcro the cable around whatever part of the tripod (handle, leg..etc) is comfortable.
When I use the Isolator with the BR-50 Deck that isn't quite as critical.
Anyway,
Cheers and remember... use that dam thing!
