Hi, is there a way to output edited sequence back to SXS media,
so I could play out from the camera?
Using edius 5.12.
THX. Happy new year btw.

This is a very good question, and I add the same one but using Premiere...

Is there a way to encode files so that they can be played by the camera? I guess the file would need the metadata files as well, right?

Hmm, Final Cut Pro can do this. Export to XDCAM EX MP4 (available when Sony software is installed.) and drop in ClipBrowser to create BPAV. The file must be under the FAT32 4GB limit though.

I'd imagine if the NLE can work in the EX timeline codec and export without rewrapping or encoding to something else, the MP4 can be dropped in ClipBrowser to create the BPAV.

I take it you're finding no way to export as EX MP4 from Premiere or Edius?

Hello!

Very easy with Edius. Press F11 - XDCAM on the left side - XDCAM EX Plug in ... at the right side an then Export. In the next popup window choose the rest. Done!

....and Edius prompts you if you would like to encode directly to an SxS card or to other media, no time wasting here at all.

Premiere Pro media encoder has trouble staying stable whilst encoding DV - forget it !! especially CS4 - well documented dud.
