Currently I'm having troubles with my AV-configuration. I'm using a combination of older Sony equipment. What I would like to do:

- Shoot with my PDW-F330 XDCAM HD camcorder in SD/DVCAM mode
- Import the .MXF files to Sony vegas 8
- Record the edited footage to Sony Premium Mini-DV Tape using my DSR-11 Deck

Currently I can complete points 1 and 2 but writing to tape is failing. The preview screen in Vegas remains black during the recording and the footage on the tape only shows a grey square. Besides people call me nuts wanting to do this in modern times, is it possible what I want to do? And how do I do that? A small TV station is interested in my work but doesn't accept XDCAM discs, they just want tapes. Can somebody help me out?

Can you describe the steps you are taking to record the files to tape? If you put something that is well recorded in the tape drive, does it play and can you see it?

Hi,

Yes I did capture a tape recorded in a Sony Z1 with the deck yesterday. I can also capture tapes from the HD1000E, DSR-250 and FX1E without troubles. What I do to record the footage to tape with vegas. Is save the project, re-open Vegas and than Tools->Print Video to tape. I also tried to render the new project as an .AVI, import that file to Vegas again and try to record that to tape but that doesn't work either. I'm using the crash recording mode. Am I maybe missing a setting on the DSR-11 in stead of Vegas?

Thanks for your help
