Has anyone looked at the Dedolight DLOBML? I like it for a number of reasons. It looks like it would be very portable and small. The ability to spot to a small angle is great for accent lighting or hair light and increases the reach when getting telephoto shots (e.g. audience cutaways). I like the battery sled for Sony batteries which besides cost has kept me away from the Zylight. It looks to be fairly low power, but for on camera use I tend to not like too much light. The focusing ability makes it's lower power more palatable.

If anyone has actually looked at one up close, I'd love to hear their opinion.

I saw it in Toronto earlier this year. Great build quality. My only issue is that the light seemed very harsh and the edges were hard. Great if you want to cut with the excellent onboard barn doors but not so great for a soft up close interview. Well maybe two issues..the price, the place I saw it was asking almost $700.

Given that it is a single LED, it should be expected to produce hard shadows, of course the single LED is why it is focusable. Presumably you could attach diffusion to the barn doors to soften it a bit, if it has adequate output.

It was pretty bright, but I doubt it could survive being usefull if one has to add a softbox. The extra size and weight of a softbox would also take away from its feature of smallness and light weight.
