Well i picked up my 7d yesterday to add to my kit of HD cameras.

The first thing i did was buy Phil's video two weeks ago to help me decide if it was the right move. Then I purchased the Magic Lantern DVD Guides for Canon EOS 7d. Between both videos today I became comfortable with the menus and set C1 and C2 one for video and one for stills.

I also purchased on the way the battery handle, 3 more batteries, and the remote controller. This will get me started with the kit lens. A few more lens wide first will be coming.

First impression is STUNNING stills in low light. We had a blizzard today and tonight's stills are wonderful with christmas lights. The video will be nice for close ups where very shallow DOF is needed. But the real reason I purchased was time laps. To pan, tilt, and zoom in a time laps shot at 18MP raw will be a great addition.

My last 35mm purchase was a Nikon in 1976, wow you've come a long way baby. I think Chuck Spaulding said in the 7d forum it will make you a better shooter with your HD cameras. I agree the more we learn the better we become as shooters.

Thanks for all the help and I look forward to the new addition helping to complete my ever growing kit. Yikes a van next?
