I want to get a spare battery charger for the VW-VBG6. I ordered one from Sterlingtek that was advertised as fitting the VW-VBG6, but of course in reality, it didn't.

Is there no third-party charger that will fit this battery? I can't even find the original Panasonic charger online anymore. What gives?

All the HMC cameras have dedicated batteries and dedicated chargers!! It's all to do with the secure ID chip in the battery so you cannot use a generic battery or a generic charger!! B&H sells the real McCoy batteries so they might have chargers???
I have two cams so I already have a spare charger but the genuine batteries cost a fortune!!! I have seen a couple of generic batteries that "claim" to work with HMC but they have their own charger and they cannot be charged in the camera's own charger.
