Anyway... In another thread I was told about the bonus of editing in iMovie.. but I think am going for FCE..

Av been doing a little research and noticed that there is a problem with shooting 24p with FCE..

I think those threads were pretty old (technology advancement old)


Has there been any advances with FCE 4 and 24p?

I will be shooting with a 7D also :)

Ditto for editing 720p60. You can do whatever you want so long as it fits in FCE's very narrow set of presets.

I'm not 100% sure but I think I recall reading someplace that the latest version of iMovie will do 24p. Can somebody verify that? If so, he might be better off sticking with iMovie. Or shoot 30p for FCE.

Well I just got Final Cut express anyway so no going back now.. am just hoping that if I do get enough/good footage for film then a few years down the line when I finish my trip I will be able to just simply convert it :)

I just did another search and one board is saying that iMovie 08 did 24p but 09 doesn't. So who knows.
