Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but it is audio...

Anyway, I shoot a lot of video of my family at family functions and holidays during the year and I usually edit together a "Year-In-Review" video to show the family at Christmas each year. It's a short video, around 5 - 10 minutes, with lots of short clips of all the funny, crazy, weird things that people in the family do in front of the camera. The main part of the video is set to a song and I always have a hard time choosing the song. Sometimes the song has chosen itself because someone in the video was dancing to the song or singing it. Well, this is one of those years where the song didn't choose itself and I've got to come up with something.

I need an upbeat, family-friendly song to use for this. Some of the songs I've used in the past were "Footloose" and "I'm Alright" by Kenny Loggins, "Jump In The Line" by Harry Belafonte, and "Salsa Con Coco" by Pochi Y Su Coco Band (this is one of the ones that chose itself! Someone played it at our 4th of July cookout and danced to it). If anyone has any suggestions for a good song that might work, please pass them along. This is not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but my family expects to see something from their resident videographer at Christmas and I wasn't able to do one last year due to other (paying) projects, so I feel I owe them a video this year.

Thanks in advance,
Doug

Katrina & the Waves -- great song; I've used it before.

In that vein:

"What I Like About You" Romantics
"That Thing You Do" (Soundtrack) Wonders
"Workin' For A Living" Huey Lewis
"Takin' Care of Business" BTO
"Jump" Van Halen
"Shake it Up" Cars
"Stir It Up" Patti LaBelle
"Neutron Dance" Pointer Sisters
"The Heat Is On" Glenn Frey
"We Are Family" Sister Sledge

...and for the sentimental parts:

"Wake Me Up When September Ends" Green Day
"There She Goes" The La's (or the cover by Sixpence None the Richer)
"I Hope You Dance" Lee Ann Womack

You will obtain all the sync rights, yes? I'm just sayin'...
