I found the original box for the camera, so am entertaining thoughts of shipping to lower 48 if need be.

As I am paranoid about getting scammed like I did on Craigslist, I was weary about not selling in person, but I can take paypal from verified address only.

Asking $1,900 plus $25 USPS with insurance and delivery confirmation.

I have for sale a JVC GY-HM700 demo model. 'Like new' condition in the original box. (Never used in production.) It's a professional shoulder mount camera with aluminum body and interchangable lens. It features a 3 CCD sensor; which means it has none of the problems associated with 'cmos' sensor cameras (Skewing, Jello-cam and Flash banding). It's ideal for shooting documentaries or 'reality TV'. Also great for professional wedding videographers. (Not affected by flash!)
It shoots in Native mov. file format. Footage drops straight into Final Cut Pro without converting or transcoding. A real time saver!!!

FEATURES:
*Records to dual hot swappable SDHC memory cards and/or optional SxS adapter
*Pre Rec (retro cache) function prevents "missed shots"
*Professional recording with selectable data rates up to 35Mbps 1920 x 1080 (1080p24/p25/p30, 1080i60/i50) 1280 x 720P (p60/p50/p30/p25/p24)
*Native file recording--world's fastest shoot-to-edit workflow. Native .mov file format Edit immediately on Final Cut Pro or Premiere without conversion or transcoding MP4 file format
*Variable frame rate recording (over crank, under crank)
*HDSDI output Can also provide downconverted SDI output--live or playback.

$4700 or best offer. ($7500 new)

I can be contacted at: troy.filipiak@gmail.com

Hate to ask, but is this their discontinued model? JVC used to have a page where you could compare features for all their 700 series cameras. But I can't find it now. Just trying to figure out what specs this model DOESN'T have compared to the others in the JVC 700 lineup. Doing some green screen HD stuff and live HD news shots. Wondering how this compares to an EX3 or HPX370.

Hi,

I have the following items for sale, I prefer UK only for postage:

Audio Technica AT875R shotgun mic, XLR powered.

Manufacturer link: Audio-Technica - Products - Microphones by Type - Shotgun Microphones - AT875R (http://eu.audio-technica.com/en/products/product.asp?catID=2&subID=16&prodID=781)

This is an excellent, affordable shotgun mic, which is very practical for mounting on-camera due to its short length.

Price paid for new is £132
Audio-Technica AT875R Line Condenser Mic (http://www.proav.co.uk/Audio-Technica-AT875R-Line-Condenser-Mic/p18056.aspx)

Rycote Softie, 12cm, medium hole
Top-quality wind protection from Rycote, perfect for the AT875R microphone. Comb is missing - I don't know what happened to it.

Price new is £76
Rycote 033032 12cm Softie (medium hole) Windshield (http://www.creativevideo.co.uk/index.php?t=product/rycote_033032)

Rycote Universal Lyre Softie Mount CCA (camera clamp adapter)
This is an excellent on-camera mounting solution for a shotgun mic. It mounts on the microphone clamp on pro camcorders. It isolates the microphone from camera handling noise, and can also be used to get the mic out of the corner of the shot if you have a wide angle lens.

Some dealers advertise this as coming with an XLR cable - mine came direct from Rycote and didn't and there's no mention of XLR cables on the packaging. I'll throw in a cable anyway.

Price new was £90 for me, it seems to be £70-ish now.
Rycote 037306 Universal Lyre Softie Mount CCA (camera clamp adapter) & XLR Tail (http://www.creativevideo.co.uk/index.php?t=product/rycote_037306)
Softie Lyre Mount with CCA » Rycote (http://www.rycote.com/products/softie_lyre_mount_with_cca/)

Price, new for the three items above was approx £280. Asking price: £130. Postage extra, I'd rather not split these if I can help it. (I definitely don't want to split the mic and softie).

Rode PG2 Pistol Grip Shock Mount
This is a handy pistol grip for shotgun mics, so you can use them off-camera. It comes with two rubber suspension units, one for 19-20mm mics, one for 21-22mm mics. An allen key (provided) is used to unscrew the suspension unit from the pistol grip so it can be swapped over.

Price new is around £54. I no longer have the original packaging for this, it was a sealed plastic box that had to be cut to open it.

Rode PG2 (PG-2) Combined pistol grip and shockmount for NTG series shotgun microphones (http://www.creativevideo.co.uk/index.php?t=product/rode_PG-2)

I'm asking £20 for this one. Postage extra.

Hi Mike,
I think this is the page you are looking for: ProHD Camcorder Differences (http://pro.jvc.com/pro/attributes/HDTV/desc/prohd_differences_new.html). Also, here is a Philip Bloom video review : CVP TV: Review of JVC GY-HM 700 | Philip Bloom (http://philipbloom.net/reviews-4/cvp-tv-review-of-jvc-gy-hm-700/)

The 700 has often been compared to EX3. The consensus: The EX3 has a slightly better image but the JVC 700 is all around a better camera in terms of quality and ergonomics, plus, is geared towards professionals.
(that was the deciding factor for me in purchasing the camera. Not to mention the CCD sensor.)

Hope this helps!

These lenses are clean as a whistle, like new. My dad was the original owner, and he never got the chance to use them. I used them briefly on my AF100 (which I no longer own) with rainbow imaging ebay adapters, and they looked great.

FS100 owners, the new LA-EA2 adapter will enable the auto focus and iris features. Great deal on primes that perform as well as the Nikons. Includes original front and back caps, plus skylight filters which have been on since purchase.

$85 each, plus shipping.

Bought both of these last spring with hopes to use them but never have had a shoot that needed them. Times are hard so I gotta move them. I purchased the Indisystem Ultracompact used so it has some scratches where the clamps were tightened but is completely functional. The indifocusmini was brand new from indisystem. I put some of the sticky spacers on some of the gears to fit my lenses but never used them. There are still plenty of spacers left.

Indisystem Ultracompact $230 shipped
Indifocusmini $120 shipped

It is now a year old camera, that can be bought new - today- for € 4550. That amounts to £ 3924 on today's exchange rate. So, whichever way you turn it, you are still over asking. I can't imagine anyone paying a premium of around £ 200 for a one year old used camera with very limited warranty (due to its age) over a new one.

You may be lucky to get something like £ 3000 IMO and that might even be a stretch.

Over here in the UK it seems to be selling for £5500 to very near £6000, mostly nearer the £6000 end. That's nearing a 40% saving on the high end estimate which I would have though is reasonable.

I'm not saying you are wrong though Harm. I am still at the point where work has all but dried up and the camera represents a large investment that I am not sure I can justify much though I loath having to sell it. The lack of portability is a massive reason for it's lack of use. My tripod alone weighs 10kgs (but is a good/stable one)!

I think Andy may be a victim of UK taxing policy and exchange rates in this argument. Remember that Sterling is relatively weak, and we also have 20% VAT (sales tax) added to all our equipment, though businesses can normally claim VAT back.

Reputable UK dealers' asking prices for this camera are, including VAT

£5334 - Creative Video (CVP) (£4445 ex-VAT)
£5334 - ProAV (£4445 ex-VAT)
£5394 - Prestons (£4495 ex-VAT)

These are what I would term the "big 3" of UK video equipment.

In addition:
£5998 - Jigsaw: (£4999 ex-VAT) (Jigsaw are always at the top end of prices)
£5879 - Warehouse Express (they aren't really a Pro video supplier primarily)
Calument are similar in price.

If you search on Google Shopping, for example, you seem to be able to get the camera for £4100 approx. But closer scrutiny reveals this is from Hong Kong, with no UK/EU warranty I'm sure, and you're going to get screwed with import taxes and VAT on top of that, so it's not a valid comparison.

It's also not valid to compare it to B&H's list price, for example. B&H are great; but by the time I pay shipping, handling, excise and VAT, it costs at least the same as the UK, if not more, and it won't have a UK/EU warranty. I use B&H for equipment I just can't find in the UK.

I'm not sure about mainland-EU dealers, I don't know enough about how those taxes work. Harm, you won't find the camera for £3924 including VAT (even ex-VAT) at any mainstream UK dealer).

If this is a private sale, I presume it's not VAT exempt, which is why Andy is using the UK list price.

I can't buy a UK-sourced, brand new XF300, including proper warranty, from a reputable dealer, including VAT for less than £5300.

Example; my Sony NX70 camera is £2550 in the UK. It is $2800 in the USA. Exchange rates would suggest under £1800 if I bought the camera outside the UK, but it's just not that simple. We just do get screwed in the UK on purchases like this. Until you live here, you don't know how bad it can be!

For £5500 new, £4000 is probably not too bad used. My own personal, painful experience is that people tend not to get interested in used gear until it's half the price of the new item, which means somewhere in the upper £3000s for this model. Which is as depressing as hell!

Andy, given how long you have had this for sale, it does look as if either there's no interest in the camera, or it's too expensive.

Mike is right we do seem to pay top prices over here in the UK. I am not VAT registered yet so sadly I had to fork out the full amount.

I enquired at CVP for a quote for buying it from me and they said they would give me around £3000. If it really is worth only that much it leaves me in a very difficult position. To sell would be a massive loss, to keep it and only need to use it occasionally maybe seems equally silly. I have an XF100 and Canon 1DmkIV DSLR so the XF300 is not my only video camera BUT it's 18x zoom is very useful for aviation shooting compared to the XF100's 10x zoom. Other than that I use the XF100 9 times out of ten.

Andy & Mike,

The prices I mentioned are excluding VAT. The problem is that most buyers for this kind of camera are businesses or at least capable of getting the VAT back. I you had to pay the VAT yourself and could not deduct that at the moment of purchase, that makes the write-off even bigger.

When you sell the camera as a private person, you can not specify the VAT separately on the invoice and thus the buyer cannot deduct it. That effectively limits your market significantly, especially in these times.

Nevertheless, the offer you got for £ 3000 seems very reasonable to me, in fact it was the figure I mentioned earlier.

When I bought my XF300, I had to pay € 75 for transport and insurance on top of the buying price, and of course the VAT, but I could deduct that, so that is not an extra cost. In the prices I gave yesterday, the total cost would be, excluding VAT, less than £ 4000 including transport and shipping for the new camera, coming from the UK or NZ.

I am selling my like-new PMW-350K with 4 hours on the meter, along with a Zacuto Zephr base-plate and quick release, Petrol Dr. Decca carry case and Anton Bauer Gold Mount. The camera is in pristine—like the day it came out of the box—condition and has never the left the confines of my home. Due to an ever worsening spine injury, I can no longer envision using a shoulder mounted camera. While I hate to part with this gem, it seems unreasonable to allow it to sit unused in a closet.

Original box, packaging and manuals will be supplied as well.

Asking $16,500.00 or best offer.
If the camera is to be shipped, buyer pays shipping and insurance.

I'm upgrading to the R0DE VideoMic Pro, and have a couple of the original units for sale. Used less than 2 years and are in great condition. Comes with original box and packaging.

Exactly the same as you get from here:
Rode VideoMic - Camera Mounted Shotgun Microphone VIDEOMIC B&H
