They are pretty on par, at least to my eyes. We use them as a loss-less extender to our 70-200's for situations like Catholic Church ceremonies where there is quite a distance between us and the subjects.

HD200's DON'T record 1080P. They record 720P at 24/25/30/50/60 and can output 1080i out of the analog component outputs if properly configured and I THINK out of the FW port as well, if memory serves....
