Anyone using an EX1 with a Firestore HD. I've an FS5 and am thinking of getting an EX1 over a Z7 now that i found out that i can't use the Z7 CF recording unit along with my FS5. Don't have the ba**s to go with the SxS cards alone. Need a 2nd backup.

I've used my FS-4 with my EX1. However, there is a MAJOR caveat to this. And that is, if you want to use BOTH the SxS and the Firestore, you MUST record in HDV. You cannot record XDCamEX to the SxS and HDV to the Firestore.

Fortunately, the HDV is of very good quality, but it's still not ideal.

Don't have the ba**s to go with the SxS cards alone.

SxS Pro Memory Cards have proven to be very reliable.

In almost two years, and a lot of shooting in a wide variety of conditions, I've never had a problem with SxS cards.

In contrast, the Firestore was a cumbersome add-on that gave me all sorts of problems when I shot a Panasonic HVX-200, and generated a considerable amount of RFI that adversely affected my wireless mics.
